Somalia pirates kill the couple

Americans slain by captors on hijacked yacht; pirates killed, arrested - CNN.com

First, I think they were very naive, second they were not prepared or willing to defend themselves.

"...U.S. forces killed two others, one with a knife,..."
I can just imagne what was said to that sob as the seal gutted him.

I had a feeling that would be the outcome. Those people were somewhere they did not belong...they knew the risks all too well!!! I feel bad for them but how many times do you need to put your hand on a hot burner to figure out you should not have your hand there???

Almost time to get our fish on!!!

I agree, immediate overkill force should be applied. Ask questions after they are all dead. Obama is too cautious. Institute justice on the spot. Why is this so hard?

Maritime law regarding piracy USED to be a death sentence, then somewhere along the line the pirates were given civilian rights and trials.

They should be shot and sank right on the spot!
That would send the right message to all "would-be" pirates: It's a one-way trip with NO REWARDS!

Shoot each 1 in the leg except for 2 of them, and throw them overboard. Send the other 2 back to Somalia to tell the story.

Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day ...
show him where to fish and ... you'll be sorry

I'm in total agreement the sentence for pirating should be immediate death but why is this the USN's policing action? In this case it was US citizen's but the bigger issue of Somali pirates is the problem......where's coalition forces shutting down Somalia? A blockade is not possible?Versus patrolling open waters looking for a needle in a haystack!

Given the diversity of the human species, there is no “normal” human genome sequence. We are all mutants.

People who sail around the World have dealt with pirates since Joshua Slocum, the first to do it. He was prepared the first time and disappeared on a subsequent voyage. There is no romance in piracy in the real world, they are simply murderers and should be practice for jets and special ops.

He that would make his own liberty secure, must guard even his enemy from oppression; for if he violates this duty, he establishes a precedent that will reach to himself.

I don't understand how any boat is allowed to be moored off that coast. US and others should just bomb the fuel storage facilities, the water facilities and every damn boat that throws an anchor. Let's see them hijack from a #^&#^&#^&#^&ing dugout canoe.
