You Are Stranded On An Island.......
off the striper coast of course, and you are the only one on the entire blasted sand spit!!!! You washed up on shore from a sinking boat and you have only the clothes on your back, a fishing rod of your choice (you may list it complete with line and reel of choice) however the only other thing that washed up with you is "one" item to fish from that rod to catch your food (striper of course)! What would you choose it to be???? A lure (name it).....live bait (only one though).....or a type of chunk bait (name it).
I would choose a "Smitty" built 1083 Lami, spinning with a Penn Slammer full of 15 pound mono and I would be fishing a 1 ounce Gibbs pencil popper to catch my quarry!
OK...your turn!

YEP! white bucktail (with porkrind)...the most versitle lure known to mankind, will catch anything and stands up....the military use to include them in their survival pack.
While it is not the most productive, that is the "one " I would choose. If I had to pick one reel to last me forever...hmmmI would pick the one with the fewest moving parts...probably a Zebco/VS 250 and the rod...lami triflex (tough yet stiff) and for line I would like power pro 50#....I would also like a bulk spool of florocarbon to wash up as well and a aquaskinz with my bogogrip

1087 Rainshadow
6500 Nautil
white bucktail jig would be my first choice but since I don't know if this island has any river inlet or what it's structure is, maybe I would go with an Old John needlefish plug
14 lb fireline with 40 lb leader to a Breakaway clip

OK, I don't know where any of you came ashore, but on the Striper Coast where I washed up with Molly Simms, in my fantasy, oops, I mean shipwreck scenario, we did a thorough search and there are no other super models around. All I was able to salvage was a cool looking 9 foot Jarvis Walker rod, my Penn GS555 and one of Surfster's awesome squid imitations, however I will probably tie up a few jig patterns using locks of Molly's blond hair and large thorns spliced and tied up as hooks. Catching fish should be no problem, however I am hoping the abundant supply of oysters and rose hips near our driftwood lean-to back in the dunes will provide me an adequate supply of vitamin E, because she's already looking very, very lonely.

I would hope to be washed up on the invisible island 20 miles SSE of Chatham with a custom self made 9' glass rod with the Stella 20000 lined with 50# power pro. Hanging from the end I would hope to find a nice little Jet lathe and tools. Or a 14' cast net. But since that would be cheating... I would have to say a sibuki{sp}rig for continued bait collection.

And as you look up you see a pair of dark blotches tumbling from the underbelly of an F-15...
Anyone know if they still expend ordnance their or just fly around it?
