Nantucket
I just found out I'm going to Nantucket for the first weekend in Sept. -- retreat for us worker bees at my co. (sweet eh?)
and ....sigh.... I've not caught a single fish all season.... (do you feel bad for me yet?)
And I've got a bad blister on my hand.... sniff sniff. (how bout now, feeling pity???)
(GOOD, then here's the pitch
Does anyone know of a good spot in Nantucket I can hit?
Even if you can PM me, I promise not to tell or probably ever go there again, but I wanted to see if I could get in some fish-time while I'm there....

Yes - know spots on Nantucket but yer best bet is to hit up Beachwalker 'cause he's current.
Have not caught a fish yet? Hmmm, we need to fix that. If you get an invite for a weekend night to fish Rhody you could crash at your dad's, right? We'll need to rectify that lack-o-fishy thing....

Yes, and dad just got a new pad....
I was this close *holding finger and thumb together* to catching a few weeks ago, but a tangled line stopped me from getting my bait back in there. And I could almost HEAR the stripers calling to me: we're hunnnggrryy.... please feeeeeeddd usss!
Going out Sunday morning, come Hell or HIGH WATER!

She said with a grin. . . Wait. On to content:
This is a rollup of posts I've made on other boards about well-known Nantucket spots accessible without 4WD. If you have access to a 4WD vehicle, reply in the thread or PM me and I'll give your more. These are flyfishing recommendations. Plugs and tin are equally effective.
You can walk from town to Jetties Beach on a coming tide at dawn or dark and catch large fish on the outside of the west jetty with sand eel and silverside patterns. With Korkers and a life vest, you can walk further out the jetty and nail albies on white bunnies and sparse surf candies. You can walk to Brant Point lighthouse at dawn and compete with the bait fishermen. Lob big eel or sand eel patterns into the holes created by the ferry propellers. You can drive or bicycle to south shore beaches at Tom Nevers and Surfside and Miacomet and Madequecham and walk onto beach and catch fish in the wash. You can drive out the Eel Point Road to the 40th pole and hike a little bit to flats where you might still see a few cruising bass. There are plenty of places to fish on the island without four-wheel drive.
Go see Bill Pew at Bill Fisher Tackle for current advice. He's just out of town on New Lane. He’s a wonderful outfitter with years of island wisdom. You can even rent equipment from Bill. If you’re considering a charter, look up Tom Mleczko ( http://www.capttom.com/) or Steve Moore ( http://users.erols.com/saltfish/), two superb boat guides.

There once was a girl at Nantucket,
Who caught tons of stripers (on eels in buckets)
Bill Pew was so nice,
Broadbill, thanks for advice,
She put big stripers' picture in her Lucket.
Ok, so locket doesn't have a U in it...... whatever.
Thanks guys, I'll do a little good research based on your posts.

Sweetie,
Sorry to not respond to your post. I have been very busy.
I haven't read all the replies yet but I will.
Fishing has been great this year. Super steady with a lot of larger fish than I have ever seen.
Let me read some of the posts and I will try and answer some questions. I will be here the whole month so hopefully we can get together and put you on some fish.
September is awesome with late in the month being even better.
