Changes to Commercial Black Sea Bass Limits

still waiting on the Rec limits , but i understand it will be a week shorter season and inch longer 15in to 16 in

But commercial length is 12in 500lb day MAx depending on license Seriously!!! 12 inches

Guess this is what big lobbyist can do for you ?

Saw this article seems the writer was trying to be neutral and presented both cases

https://www.capegazette.com/article/...6880Commercial fishermen do not affect recreational fishing

When you look at the commercial versus recreational situation objectively, you can see there is really no conflict.

I just can't see it ..

History has shown once there's a monetary value
to the Fish , the once garbage fish for the commercial industry becomes profitable the rec fisherman take the biggest hits for the least time on the water ...
we have seen it with Menhaden Bluefish Bass scup now even mackerel seem to have made it on the list ..

Saw this on North carolina environmental site its old data but shows the differences between comm and rec landings and who has the bigger impact on the fishery... in this case

verage Commercial Landings and Value 2001–2010 – 179,976 lbs./$102,971

Average Recreational Landings 2001–2010 – 4,056 lbs., 2010 – 4,575 lbs.
