where are the herring>?

i have never tried to catch herring, i was wondering where i can catch herring or where the runs are? I know you guys dont like answering stupid questions but i was just wondering... im new to the site. Any info or tips you guys can provide would be much appreciated.

Well, from what I've seen...questions about herring runs are a pretty touchy subject.

It is, not enough to go around and some are getting severly restricted. The ones not getting restricted are getting swamped. Sometimes, the herring run talk is more abrasive than spot talk..

Chowda - there is a list on the RI DEM site. I haven't had the chance to update them here.
