good to hear your catching  I went to Canal Saturday early mornin the time i left the ditch is the time they started picking. Tis is not my year yet for even a 20#
that's a nice size was is it also a fatty one?

I fish the dead eels the same way as a live one. The eel was massive , fat as a half dollar and probally 20 inches

Definetly keep your dead ones, just put them in the freezer till you need them. Just make sure to stretch them first, so they wiggle. Ive gotten tons of nice fish this season on dead eels.

i friggin hiked all of naps, charlestown, and gansett last night from 730 til 530 this morn and got one friggin monster blue on eels.
guess i missed em somewhere.....

Yeah, its just blood from laying on one side in the cooler overnight.I also have to thank Joe , for the advice about easing my drag up a bit after losing two nice fish last week.
