I like to use rust-o-leam sandable primer, it gives me a nice - flat finish. i do one light coat, scuff with grey scotch-brite, then give it the second coat. They come out looking great!
I've tried (red) bin spary can and didn't like it, the spray came out and put a fuzzy texture the plug that needed alot of sanding. Is that normal with the bin sprays?
