Where to mount transducer

Well, I rigged the outboard & controls, got her running nice, sanded and painted the bottom, installed a blige inspection hatch & new bilge pump, and a bunch of other little stuff here and there.

Now I want to install my new GPS/Fishfinder (garmin 188c). First question. Where on transom should I mount the transducer? See pics. Boat is a 1970 Mako 19. Centerline length - 18'7". Beam - 8'. Hull Draft - 8". Transom height - 25" (raised from 20"). Power - 150 HP Evinrude FFI.

Remaining projects:
Drill new scuppers
install fixed radio
fix or replace boot stripe
install windshield
install new horn
(later in the summer)
wire new panel
r&r rub rail
