Thank you aquaskinz

I took a rouge wave in the chest tonight - the wave was cresting perfectly, so when it hit me it was just collapsing and it felt like someone threw a 100 pound sack of potatoes at me- I got thrown back and went under, only to have my plugbag get wedged under a rock or something- I didnt realize this and couldnt get up. As each wave came along i had to hold my breath as my plugbag was holding me down and i was totally submerged. Finally after the 5th wave i realized what was going on and scooted forward to 'unwedge' my bag from the rock. They say you can drown in under a foot of water, and believe me, its true. Thinking back on this, if I hadnt held my breath and hyperventilated like someone about to die, i probably would have

I say thank you aquaskinz because if I was not wearing my evoII my waders would have filled up like a waterballon.

And to think I was going to go down there...

Glad you are OK - that's the big thing.

Yes, the Skinz are awesome and will keep the water out.

Good to see your ok. The best thing you did was staying calm and thinking through your situation. For this reason alone Im thinking of a wetsuit instead of waders.

Glad you are fine Eben...as I do not have an Eben darter yet! Seriously glad you are fine! I need to get me a Skinz top soon, also I was thinking along the same lines as Striperhound......does anyone else out there use wet suits as opposed to waders? I know alot of you New Yawkers down along Montauk do. Could you give us some insight on pros and cons, cost etc.? What do you wear on your feet? I was thinking wetsuit, neoprene booties with wading boots?

Almost time to get our fish on!!!

Glad you are ok!!!

Have any of you ever thought about cutting the strap on your plug bags or what ever you carry and sew Velcro on it?? This way you could just rip it off in a situation like this.

Any good kayak top would have done the same. I got cheaper bags with velcro closures too. Glad you didn't get dead though that would have sucked besides I don't have an Eben plug yet. Until that you can't croak.

Why even try.........
