That is Scary. Probabally do to agricultural runoff into the Chesapeak. Lots of fertilizer and organics dump into thr bay creating a perfect environment for bacteria. The striper population doesn't need any more threatening diseases.
Humans may also be at some risk. People with cuts or open sores on their hands could pick up persistent mycobacteria infections from the fish which, in some cases, can take years to shake.
the artical didn't mention anything about possible dangers to humans from consumption, if there are any??? this doesn't sound good
