saw a first

Saw a first this morning on the canal. A gentleman with 5 rods and reels on a bike which is a first but the more amazing thing was all 5 were what looked to be brand new Van Staal's on 5 separate rods. I am surprised he didn't have a body guard with him.

I don't even like to carry more than 2 rods...or find it necessary. I think that guy needs attention... and I'm guessing that they didn't even get damp.

Got to wonder if he drags all 5 down to the water's edge with him or leaves them on his bike if he spots breaking fish? Nice problem to have I guess.

He took them all down one at a time as his bike leaned against one of the benches along the ditch and lined them up against a tree near him. He couldn't put them all on the bike at once because it would have tipped over.
On another note I agree with Mike it is getting too cold. I hate the cold

I use my vs to snag pogeys then lay it on a rock to liveline the pogeys with another rod and reel.It works for me.I can't cast far enough yet to reach the pogeys with my conventional reel and a snag hook.I may make a double snagger for more weight next trip out so I only need 1 rod and reel.So that would mean VS collecting dust....again.Plugging has sucked for me this year so I went the way of conventionals for bait.
On a side note the guy with the 5 or 6 VS's must have a serious addiction and if he was guided by the right people may turn out to be a good guy after all.Tons of money to blow and no idea what to do next.....If you helped the guy out maybe he would give you one.I wouldn't have that many on me at once it's like asking for trouble.Like walking around with your wallet open showing everyone.

that was me I am very rich, I left the rods at the canal because after I tried it for a few hours I decided fishing is boring. If you find them you can keep them.
