What a season......

Late launch due to maintenance/upgrades on boat
Lost time fighting battery and oil gremlins.
Not finding fish in local honey holes. (need to go further south and outside)
Some days not finding bait.
And yesterday I had a work mishap....Trip to the ER. Six stitches in right ring finger surrounding lower knuckle. Could have been much worse, but besides the discomfort and how it is going to limit using it for work, I cant hold a rod...... Figure another week before I can use it.
I figure each fish I have actually boated this year cost $800 a piece..... Hoping for a great second half of the year.

At least you haven't had to fill the tank much or at all yet.......I just added up my receipts and hit the $2K mark for gas this year.

Hope your season turns around quickly.....

That sucks about the hand. Hopefully the fishing looks up for you. Try that cove near where your boat is docked

I'm sure things will get better
I guess that's the price we pay
too bad about the digit, it's risky business
better luck next time

The United States Constitution does not exist to grant you rights; those rights are inherent within you. Rather it exists to frame a limited government so that those natural rights can be exercised freely.

1984 was a warning, not a guidebook!

It's time more people spoke up with the truth. Every time we let a leftist lie go uncorrected, the commies get stronger.

I was screwing a mending plate to the back side of a stringer. Lost hold of it and it started spinning at the speed of the impact driver....

Ouch thats much worse than hitting your head with a hammer . Try splinting it then you may be able to fish with 1 finger stick straight out . At least you wont be giving everyone the finger ( 2nd digit ) .

take care of yourself .

Sorry Ross. But if it makes you feel any better I have not even put my boat in the water yet. I am battling a tick illness that has had me miss 2 weeks of work now and I am on a super anti biotic with great side effects and I can't go in the sun. I put 15 gallons of gas in the boat 4 weeks ago and now it is probably stale so I will drain it and put in my truck and start over with fresh gas I guess if I ever get the thing in the water. My comm season has been a total bust so far.

Paul, mine will heal. I was lucky and it will be a minor inconvenience in comparison. I don't envy your battle. THAT sucks. Much worse than my deal. Wishing you a full and speedy recovery. (I was just in a bitchy mood and the block was wearing off when I posted...)

Funny how we take so much for granted, especially our health. Those of us in our late fifties and older are realizing things that we don't want to face or accept. You young guys better start living and appreciating every day. It can be taken away in a second.......

Come on you bunch of big babies! I had a 4 stents, a major MI, quad bypass and cancer and I'm still fishing 100 + nights a year in the boat and in the surf.

No boat, back in the suds.

Don't invite me fishing Ross. I think you, Paul, and I should stay far away from each other for a while.

Sorry to hear and I feel your pain, seems like even loosing a few weeks at our age is precious time lost. I severely sprained my wrist and am told no use for two weeks, but with the boat back in the shop, I guess it could be worse. I'm bummed that the $160 I paid to enter a charity golf outing at Atlantic CC this weekend is forfeit and I'm scrambling to find my group an A player to sub.

I haven't even been out this year yet. Between the 2 big Audits at work, Work around the house and Scouts....just havent had the time.

Audits are over this week, got back from DC with the scouts last weekend...so hopefully I can squeeze in a little "Me" time now.

Thanks. I credit God. After I was diagnosed with cancer, I started praying and it worked.
