or chinatown, but dont buy the fish there. butterfish, croaker, scups, crabs, clams, mussels, and squids are fresh. go to sun sun market...

try super 88 supermarket.its located right off the south east expressway...93 south,,near dorchester,,,go to the southbay mall.(toys r' us & homedepot, stop n shop can be seen from the highway),,,88 supermarket is right next to stop n shop.parking is plenty and open till 11pm,maybe 12 on weekends ,,there is also a 88 upermarket in brighton,,next to bu on commonwealth ave/brighton ave merge....you can get frozen clams and frozen sand eels, that can be used as a trailer on a bucktail or spoon.. plus all the fresh seafood they have.,.their seafood tend to be fresher the stop n shop, because they sell so out on most if not all of the fish by the end of the day,,,the seafood section is the most busiest section of the supermarket, every one is there for the variety of fish they got,, just point to the fish you want and tell him how many,,,,woot wooot,,good luck....ps. check out the candy section for snacks.

Please let me know where you are paying 5-10 dollars a tote for herring. The only time I've ever seen that price in the last 18 years is going direct to a dragger that went and got some for himself for tuna and had extra.
