Rope splicing??

How hard is it to do?? And if you don't splice what knot do you use for your anchor & bow lines??

It's easy. For three strand you don't need a fid (looks like a big needle). Braid on braid is a PIA and you do need the fid. Lots of how-to on the web. Here's an example:

Best regards,

Just saved that site to my favorites. I need to setup a new anchor this spring as well. Believe it or not I lost 2 last year.

yes JOE,it does require alot of finger strength and usually cramped hands the next day.
find one of those grumpy old sailors that walk the dock all summer long looking for someone to talk to{usually named Skip} and give him a few of millwalkie's finest and he'll probably set you up with all the splices you need.
i think boat us will do custom splices? they probably just ship the lines out to Skip
