So I went to the Canal
with MAC, Slipknot, and Mike P and got hooked on the ditch. My question is this : What rod should I get ( or blank to wrap) to throw 3-4-5 oz. jigs?
BTW, thanks for the great night, guys!

You should get the one that Slip, Mac and I were using
All Star 1209 or the Breakaway factory rod that's built on the blank. Throwing Timber has one for sale in the Classifieds.
The Batson Rainshadow SU 1209 is a very close approximation if you can't find an All Star/Breakaway.
Other blanks that will work---Lamiglas XRA 126 1MH, GSB 132 1M or 120 1M, or the old glass standy-by SB 121 3M.

The United States Constitution does not exist to grant you rights; those rights are inherent within you. Rather it exists to frame a limited government so that those natural rights can be exercised freely.

Where does one find a XRA 126 1MH
Is that rod slightly heavier (in action) than the new 1205

Sounds like i gotta get me one.The 1322 is just to long sometimes on some rocks It has so much leverage u almost get yanked off.the 120 1m is ok if i wanna go as low as redfins but when u trow bigger stuff all night it's a little under gunned.I have a 542 I use for that app.but i ain't gettin any stronger with age.an all nighter's seem to be touhger every year.

I'm getting quite an education here, More than I saw coming. But then again, isn't that always the way. I wish I'd seen the other blanks in action, but we still have a coupla months and the Winter will be long. Again, thanks guys.

I had and fished a 126 for 4 or 5 years. But like the all star 1209 much better for jigging. the 126 will handle these weights nicely but doesn't like 6 oz the way the 1209 does. Some days when it is really ripping 6 is needed to get down quickly. As stated above the 126 is more parabolic and not as fast as the 1209. With the faster tip I loose fewer jigs than I did fishing the 126. Nothing against the Lami it is a great stick.
