Head to the wall should be a great day for it...Biggest fear today is the Leach field getting overwhelmed, this is the kind of storm that will do it....

#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&,

I keep hearing about the East Wall. I am from Nj and fish a spot called the North Jetty in Nor easters. I imagine it has a similar trap effect on the bait. The fish go crazy. Anyway, I have only been living in RI since January. Any suggestions on how to find this "spot" would be appreciated

Thanks,

Bill

Due to anal retentivenes I am barred from speaking of such things, as much as I would love to give advice and location specifics regarding 12inch fish..I am barred from doing so..I will say, I know of no such place called the "North Jetty"..Any attempts by me to publicly help you will be met with Therefore send me a PM if you like and I will try and give you some help......

However - anal retentiveness is usually not sufficient to stop one's mouth from runneth over... Nor does it seem to break down differences between a generalized speaking of a spot (acceptable), and a detailed expose or in the state of a report (less than acceptable)

So in answer to your question, the East Wall is just west of Point Judith Light in Narragansett. The next 48 hours would not be too conducive to walking it in order to scope it out... (probably a little dangerous today & tomorrow) - Welcome to S-B

In my case John, Its not wise for my mouth to "runneth" over...even a little

But since you craked open the door..............The east wall is much better in the fall than in the spring, most of the ballgame takes place in Matunuck...so getused to the crowds on the west wall and have fun....Next weekend that place is going to explode with fish (and fisherman)

going to probably be a bigger surge tomorrow, but a lower predicted tide, but bigger waves. could be ugly unless you are a surfer!

I guess the praying for the beaches to build back up was in vane. I heard that the damage from Newburyport South has been brutal already. Maybe the beaches will be battered and the plovers will not nest early. That will spell disaster for the surf fisherman. For those who fish the Merrimack River at the mouth and near the jetty, the banks are really steep and there is very little area to work from. This storm will exasperate the matter even more.

FYI -- I was on Plymouth Beach today and spotted several plovers and lots of sandpipers.

Barometer is dropping like a rock, and the wind is honking for sure, can feel the house move when a gust hits it. gonna go look for surf clams early. steady 40 knots outside my guess, never seen my dog squirt so fast. and the storm center is still a bit south of us.

Lost a couple sections of fence. No power.

Guy across the street had a 30' section of tree come down from 25' up the trunk and take a smaller tree with it between 2 houses. Both landed between the two houses...

We probably had a few hurricane force gusts. A huge one woke me up about quarter after two.

Lost about 10 shingles off the roof, no other damage that I can see. No flooding--elevation + sandy soil/great drainage.

Have to check out my mom's place later--I'll bet she has some downed trees
