Charlie Moore
There is a new tackle shop in N. Falmouth formerly known as “Mad fish Outfitters”.
They were threatened with legal action because the shops name was too close to Charlie Moores lame tv show called “the mad fisherman”. So rather than spend $$$ to fight Mr. Moores attorney they simply changed their name.
From what I have read in my local paper the afore mentioned alleged TV fisherman could not be reached by the shop owners to talk this over. They, like I and the editorial staff of the paper are in agreement the name is not that close and they probably would have won in court but as a fledgling shop I understand why they chose not to pursue.
Shame on Moore.

I'm not surprised, he seems like he thinks he's a big deal....He's not and I personally think his show is less than enjoyable.

Charlie Moore is a joke. He can't catch fish to save his life and makes him self out to be an idiot on TV. I met the owner of mad fish over the summer and he seemed like a really good guy who knew his stuff. Charlie moore makes me puke, he'd sell his kid if he got enough money

I was flipping through the channels on a weekend looking for some fishing shows to watch, and I briefly paused on his show (which i know sucks but I was jonesing for some tv fishing). It only took about 10 seconds before my wife says, "What the hell is wrong with this guy!" A friend of a friend actually went to high school with him and apparently he hasn't changed. This brings to light another thing that bothers me, a serious lack of decent fishing show. On the Water does an okay job but how many times can I watch them fish Nomans with eels? My buddy and I always joke about starting our own fishing show, but likewise, how many times do people want to see the "Sporadically Beating up on Schoolies" episode? All I know is that something needs to be done because football season is almost over and I need some quality fishing programming to fill the niche.

Told by a friend who lives close to Charlie Moore up in New Hampshire,
Charlie's not exactly the greatest guy at home!
Treats the wife and kids like %$%$%$%$!

My guess is that they would have won a legal battle. Not that I'm an expert here, but considering how many other fishing businesses use a similar name, and how they are not in competition I just can't see it...

He bought the wife some bolt-on accessories though
I always miss the juicy stuff. And if you don't like the racy stuff it was Charlie Moore who hooked and yanked off his wife's bikini top in thier pool, during a commercial for the show. He is a putz, but he is a clever putz.

He also has a show on ESPN2. Where a regular "amatuer" fisherman challenges him. So figure in that salary too. Guy is making some bank. He's annoying but I bet his bank account isn't.

CMoore is the poorest excuse for a fisherman I've ever seen.
If there was ever a time slot that needed improvement, or a niche that could do with one less assclown, then it would be the time slots that this tool is allowed to pollute our airwaves in.
Somebody with NESN seems to think he's funny. Prolly never feehsed a day in their pencil-pushing, numbers-crunching, pathetic, corporate life!!! I'd out-fish that BEETCH from the shores of our city ressies, and he can have a boat, a crew, and all of the teeny fish he wants ~~~while i'll land some reel monstahs and carefully release them to live to fight another day. What a maroon!!!!
The worst is how he almost jumps out of the boat when he hooks into an avg smallie or largie. And his wife is STELLAR, prolly very high maintenance and the only TROPHY he'll ever catch! ?

It's not bad enough that the rest of the country hates us 'cause our teams are so good but we also have a regional guy who gives them a legitimate reason to despise us for being the home of the most obnoxius, self absorbed, untalented a$$hole on earth and the biggest obsenity in the whole fishing community

My kids enjoy watching him. They think he's crazy.
He needs to stop making shows of him just reeling in fish and talking like he injected a gallon of espresso like Clemens with B-12. He offers little advice about equipment, how to use it and where. Just him y#^^^^^&g it up with Lenny Clarke, or towing Mitt Romney on skis.
I wish I were as successful as him though. What a gig! I don't think I could fish with him for any length of time before wanting to throw him over board though.

I didn't know he was still on television. I wish I could get paid half of what he does for being a "professional goof". I'm not as good as he is at it, but I could practice acting like an idiot and get better if the money was right.
