I guess no one owns a Digital Camcorder...
Here's what I found out -
Hybrid cameras w/HardDrive can burn directly to a disc as well as a storage device, be it a hard drive or memory stick.
The benefit of the Hard Drive type is that you can record hours and hours of video, view it, edit it and then burn yourself a hard copy.
The down side, it costs more.
With the mini-dvd style (No Hard Drive), you must record to the RW disc, then load to your PC, make your edits and then reburn the final copy. The upside, it's less expensive.
As far as the other options, Optical Zoom, Digital Zoom, Nightshot, ETC/etc/ETc....these options are offered with both types.
I ended up with a Sony Handycam, same camera had quite a few different prices, depending on where you looked. I think I got a decent deal.
I walked into Circuit City/Best Buy.....they must have at least 40 different models, talk about making your head spin when you don't know what the heck you're doing...

, didn't help that the associates were clueless as well.....all they could do was read the advertising cards placed in front of the display models...

,,,,, there was no deal to be found at either store, I even beat Amazon/Cnet's price.....wow.
Just wanted to say thanks to y'all for your feedback, t'was XXXtremely helpful.
