Fish ID Please

My brother snapped this picture while snorkeling. Looks like another fish that may be too far north?

Looks like a banded rudder fish. Not too uncommon in the deep summer. Can find them offshore and inshore around structure.

Definitely a banded rudderfish- white tail tips are the dead giveaway. Great pic!

I think it is a banded rudder fish also, we had them around the dock last August, the kids netted a few of them

Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day ...
show him where to fish and ... you'll be sorry

They make great live bait too. Give them a try you'll love it. Just attach a baloon or larfe bobber to slow them down.Very hardy bait.

Thanks - are there any regs on them? I found a spot where there were tons of them and I my first thought was live lining them.
