I was staying on the south side of block island last weekend and it was as far away from light pollution as you could get without driving out to western mass.. The result was amazing star gazing as it was a new moon. Saw many many shooting stars. Who needs a TV ?

My favorite place to look at the stars especially during a new moon. The starwalk app is great for identifying the stars. Unfortunately the wind farm is lit up like a Christmas tree and it takes away from the star gazing on the southside beaches.

Back in the 1980's we stayed out for them all night, at times were over 60 an hour.

I saw 25 of them in about 40 minutes around 12:30 or so.

Everything is better on the rocks.

They were there. Just couldnt see starin at your electronics. Plus with 300+ boats there it made it seem like u were star gazing in downtown boston........

No wonder there are no fish left in the canal. The side scan guys have gobbled them all up. What do you figure mike 7000 to 8000 fish taken out front last 3 open days.
