Excellent reasonable boat for the money...all around boat 26' Dusky out of Florida...this past winter boat yards in Florida were over whelmed with used boats....had mine for 10 years and sold it for 20 thou last March use to do 39 knots on a good day with a 225 HP

Conch makes a decent 27 footer if you can find one. I think it is supposed to be lighter than a Regulator 26 and better set up for fishing. People like the ride and it is a fast fuel efficient boat.
There is one (or used to be) in Falmouth owned I think by the guy who makes Hogies (Mike Hogan). I'll bet he'd be glad to show it to you.

Then again I just priced used Conchs. Looks like they sell for a serious premium.

Sea Dangles got an Onslow Bay 27 last year. Get his opinion on that hull. Also like the look of the Southports, but have no firsthand input.

I've fished on a 27 conch down in the keys - very nice rigs. the problem with some of these heavy boats is that they just need so much power to move them well. I've fished with chris on the onslow a bunch of times and it is a fantastic boat, just eats up the slop, but just too expensive for me to run a boat that heavy. I really would like to be able to run twin 150s.

The Conch 27 doesn't need lots of power to push it like a 26 Reg. Many guides in the keys run singles and many have re-powered their old 2 strokes to F150 Yamaha's and with good fuel numbers and decent cruise speeds. You just loose the top end that you would have from twin 225-300's. The Conch is one of the best 27's out there and you will see that from their resale value.

I am thinking of selling my 23 Inboard SeaCraft......Just sayin...

im pretty sure I want outboards and I always felt that once a boat is restored it always seems to be an ongoing project

when I originally thought of upgrading it was to a 23 but after some thought a 26 just makes more sense for my situation. do love those 23 seacrafts though

Whitewater is also a brand I looked at,very serious meat and potato fishing platform. Southport makes a great boat but the 26 is not exactly fishy. I would suggest taking a long look at contender,the 23t is a 25 foot boat that was made to fish. The boat is 23' at the waterline and can be had in your price range. I also think that power would push it well.I know they run a 250 on it that pushes it fine.Captain Cory from plug n play runs one and loves it.

Niko, based on your budget and want for fuel economy with 4 strokes in the 150 range you can rule out boats like a 26 Regulator, 28 whitewater, 27 contender etc...that are too heavy or too expensive.

The Sailfish rolls pretty well with twin F150's. It won't be a high top end boat and weight will effect it a bit, but a good overall platform build off the SeaCraft design with decent economy. You may also want to look at a 23 Regulator that has been re-powered with twin 4 strokes. The 23 Reg will go out any day a 26 Reg goes out. Another boat I would take a close look at is the 24 HydraSports with twins. Take a good look at one if you haven't, they are little tanks.

I know it's not exactly what you are looking for but I know of a 1999 26 Robalo walk around that was recently re-powered by twin Verado 150's for sale by a meticulous owner for under $25K located in Falmouth. He wants it gone so I think there is some flex in price too.

Not what you are looking for Niko, but I have my 1995 Hydra-Sports 2150 WA (Vector) with 1996 175 Johnson up for sale. My honey went to work for Pepsi in Valhalla NY so we are moving to the Rye NY area. She has been sitting for several years but is still in good shape. Comes with LOTS of extras including 50 lb tuna rods. I'll be putting my waders to use for a while. Have no idea where to go. Might try Playland Park :-)

Go over the border into CT, taxes are about half of what they are in Westchester County.

Actually we are renting a 3 bedroom for at least a year in Harrison, NY. About 3 miles from the beach. Need to spend some time down there before we figure out where we want to settle. Maybe we end up in CT. I'm looking forward to some surf fishing in early Nov. from the easy spots. I'm too old to try the rocks anymore. I still have my special Mako Joe eel bucket to keep my snakes nice and fresh for multiple days! It's going on 10 years old!

that thing is pretty sweet, set up to fish. what I need to figure out next is do I want a higher quality older boat w/ newer power or the "newest" boat I can swing. overall plan is to have this for the next 5-7 yrs

For what its worth, MY vote on how you should spend YOUR money is an older top quality boat with newer power already decked out with electronics, etc. (some of them aren't made like they used to be). You have time and the hull truth always seems to have a ton of good used boats. Lots of deals out there outside of New England. Even with a few trips, a professional survey (highly recommend a SAMS accredited surveyor) and transportation costs, you will most likely not find the deals or selection up here you can find elsewhere. I got mine from Mississippi and i couldn't come close to the same price or condition in this area of what I saw down there. I just think you will get so much more boat for you money if you pass on the "newest" and go with older high quality.

didn't read all the posts, so this may be redundant..... m but maybe Albemarle24 or Silverhawk24 both are pocket rockets that could stay offshore with bigger boats easily. with either inboard(gas or deisel) and outboard options
