Generally comedians get some leeway on these issues. Wanda Sykes (whom I love) was the first to say she was leaving the show but some of her material is worse - of course she is black so she gets a pass? What about someone like Andrew Dice Clay who was very popular maybe 30 years back - would a comedian like him get away with that nowadays? As a society are we too sensitive and take things way out of context?

VJ is of Persian heritage - all of you know that, right? You knew that before today, right? So is saying she is the offspring of a monkey is it to be looked through a lens as if she is black?

Roman Polanski is a famous director who was convicted in court of drugging and violently raping a child (I think a 13 year old), and he fled to Europe. Hollywood gave him a standing ovation not that long ago, long after we knew he was a child rapist.
