Sorry for your loss, Chris. It sounds like your dad was really a great man and a great father who had a huge impact on who you are today. Cherish the memories and be there for your mom and sisters during this trying time.

Sorry for the loss of your dad, but it is great that you had the chance to be with him to say goodby, even though you know its time it is still so hard to let go, we will say a prayer for you and your family. Its good that he will no longer be suffering.

I am sorry for your loss. I hope we all may be surrounded by our loved ones at the time of our passing. Parkinson's disease touched our family as well. It's a bitch on everyone.

just now saw this~~~

having had my father, two grandparents, an aunt, and an uncle die
from cancer related(one was leukemia) diseases, and watching them
emaciate away to become distant shadows of their vigorous selves,,,,,

it TRULY was a Blessing, for their sakes and for ours, to have the pain be over and to have them be at eternal rest. i learned very early(grandparents when 6&7) that Death is as much a part of Life as living it is, that while we are here we are to aprreciate this Blessing of Grace and Time, and to make the MOST of our Faith, family, and friends so that the entirity of one's Life is a celebration to be cherished and lifted up in one's final hours.

sounds like your Family gets this,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,our deepest condolences to you and them.
how cool to hear of the closeness you shared with your Dad!!!

between man and nature shall not be broken."~~ Leo Tolstoy

Happy Hunting to ALL!

Very sorry for your dad's passing, Chris.

I'm also very thankful for your inspirational words in this thread. They are helping me in my own time of grief. Death of a parent, for both of us, seems to have been a mixed experience--a mourning of a passing and a celebration of a long life, well-lived.

Peace to you.
