If you hook a bass that can take 300 yards of braid, it doesn't matter if you have another 100 or 200 yards on the reel. You aren't stopping that fish. And I seriously doubt that there are many bass out there that a VS150 can't stop because of either capacity or drag.

I have had no problems with my vm150 at the canal, I had a wind knot issue one night at scortons, but that was my own fault. But no problems to report so far.

with the 150, to me its not a matter of line capacity (i put mono backing on my 200 and 250, i would just use less on a 150), its just that the reel feels too small. Not comfortable to work with, and doesn't feel right on a rod over 9'. Unless you exclusively beach fish with light tackle (8ft rod, or light 9ft rod), your better off with a 200 IMHO.

as far as setups, i'm a big fan of lami gsb series and vs reels. most common setups are 1081m with vs200, 1201m with vs250, or 1201 with 6" cut from butt end with vs200 (my favorite setup, especially for riggies).
