Wood Supply
Ok...looks like Salty doesn't have anything to sell In Stock. I don't see anything available at CC Tackle. Where can I get AYC, Red, or even Port Orford? Don't really use much maple, etc. Just the basic wood for turning. I don't need a lot either.....enough to turn maybe 20, 6-9"plugs. My local supplier doesn't carry it anymore.
I've been out of the turning loop for a few years but just acquired another lathe. Want to get back into it again.
PM me if you don't want to post publically or if anyone has any they would be willing to sell me.

Clean enough for plug building? Minimal knots, blemishes?
Thanks for the tip. Can I pick it up?

Why AYC? Noxious stuff.
Downes and Raeder nearby has Eastern and Sugar pine. If you have a tablesaw and can slice it up the same wood worked fine for Gibbs, Musso, and Pichney.
Basswood is also an excellent alternative.

Downes and Raeder might also had basswood in balusters if you don't have a way to rip them down.
