gotta agree - i've caught blues with bent welding rod ground to a point with a strip of soda can attached in the outfall canal of the power plant i worked at. they eat anything.

I also had an opportunity to try the new Gags lure - swims like a champ, finish and hardware excellent, throws a little further than a mambo. should prove to be a fish catcher - just keep them %$#@!&* blues away..

Everyone has tried these things except me!?!

I sense a lot of subliminal tension among plug builders on these threads (not just this one) esp when a new lure is comming out. (maybe its part of the hype?)
It is exciting as a plug user to see new stuff hit the market. When I see a new plug, I first think..where and when might this be effective...IMO there is room for all kinds of things that have not even been thought of or tried yet. You've got your buck a doz jap jigs and your $35 customs....there is something for everyone.

So many plugs, so little time to fish....

peace to all.

Just so you know - the comments i made were on his new creation - the Dancing minnow, not the Squidzee although he did have an unweighted version of the Squidzee to try as well.
Still casts like a missle.

The original thread was probably moved to a "special place", the purgatory where threads go when they get out of hand for one reason or another

I clicked on the link 10 minutes ago and it was still working, but I have access to purgatory

You can find a picture if you do a google search for

"gag's dancing surf minnow"

I don't want to post the link because I don't want to get involved in the sponsor thing.

Feel free to delete this post if its a problem. I'm just trying to help.

Wow, way to recycle a thread! Don't know about those two, but I did quite well with the flippin mullet last fall, nice 2 oz spook-type plug that does well in rougher water.

I had high hopes for the Squidzee but it didn't pan out for me (Bluefish don't count ). It is one hell of a teaser tugboat though

The Surfdancer and Squidzee were disappointments but his recent wood offerings have not been bad at all. Particularly the Canal Style pencil. Pretty great deal at 14 bucks at M&D's. Tough to beat.

I'll second that on the canal cut pencil. I think it is called the sea special. I had a seal rob me of an absolute hog in the wash that I caught on one of those this summer at RP. I like the white.

seals + plovers =
