Offshore information

With the tuna season banging on our door and the cost of gas not making it any easier to spend a lot of time offshore without sacrificing the 401k I was thinking we should try to pool our knowledge to help cut down on the running around to find 'em aspect. I will be out fishing for them a few times a week and on all the weekends. If you want to exchange info lets build a pm list for contributors and go catch some tuna. Occasionally I have room on the boat for another angler. What do you guys think? I'll be out Thursday - Sunday this week.

I hear that the spotters have been out at Jefferies already... Good thing I get my new gear when I get back in town.

I also think that we should boat pool and share operating costs. I'm good for gas money and gear , but not too much experience.

Has the laws changed this year regarding tuna? I have heard a lot of talk about it. What is the actual size, and bag limit for non comercial?

thats why they call it fishing not catching

Angling category this year will be allowed 2 fish per day greater than 47" and less than 73". They will also be allowed one "trophy" fish per season over 73".
There will be a limited season (8/25 - 9/14) when the category may also take an additional one fish between 27" and 47".

Im in and will travel. This has been talked about before but we should all meet up or at least start a "offshore" contacts list so when/where you decide to go we can let everyone know...

Whoever wants to get on the email list pm me and I will resend to everyone who responds. That way everyone can be privy to the info and if someone wants to trip share or buddy up ( good idea esp. w/ the E-10 gas problems) everyone will have the necessary info. I'm going offshore this weekend and will post reports.

I'm out of Chatham and plan on spending some time on the crab ledge. Might make it out to suicide at some point if I get on with one of the commercial boats.

Add me to this party, I fish east of Chatham. I would guess to that there should be fish on the Crab by now. Mid June has always showed fish in the past.... I agree, the more boats the less running around and searching.
