Question Boston Harbor Herring

Hey, i know its sort of early to be thinking about stripers but i feel like it anyways. last year i saw some guys live lining herring. the only place i know where to get these herring is at the bait shop, but they're wicked expensive. ive caught herring before from my friends boat on sabiki rigs and tiny cast masters but where can i catch them from shore when they are running in the spring?
i normally fish around blacks creek and walloston and a few places close to there.

live to fish. fish to live. rod tips high.

I think stores can keep them live and sell them too as long as they stay within the laws...

Christian, I know of very few people that get & keep live herring from a shop & they tend to pay dearly for it. 99% of the people you see with live herring get it themselves from a herring run or jigging...

Kinda need 2 systems, one for the truck & herring run and the one in the boat. A lot of these runs would be real hard to pull up to with a boat in tow. Herring are also real delicate too so you need to get them quickly into a controlled livewell from the net or they'll die...

True John, but what I am hearing is that there are places to get from the boat.

Then into the live well they go, to get eaten laer by hungry bass.

I have access to 55 gal drums, and could rig a pump in the back of my pick-up, but what a hassle that would be, and then try to get them to the boat still alive, I don't think its feasible.

What we/I (ya know--"boaters") need is somewhere to get a bunch on the way out in the AM.
