On the mend from recent surgery. Highlight of the weekend is that my daughters get to skate @ MSG on Sunday with some old time Rangers and get to hang in the locker room.

That sounds like a great time.....and hope your healing well.

We have a Halloween parade in town tomorrow and the troop has made/is making a float for it. They're roasting the scout master over an open fire....should be good for a few laughs.

Sunday time to rake the leaves...and watch some football

Cut wood, watch my daughter play rugby in the playoffs Sat. Go UVM! Maybe go look for some big brown trout. Wish I was in RI fishing, I think next wknd and then that's it folks. Unless someone is interested in a Montauk trip in November?

wife's throwing me a b-day party sat. night, so the club challenge is out for me

might try one more shot at a nshore fish sunday at dawn if the weather looks OK, then may try my hand at tog'n (never done it before, but occasionally here of them being caught by bait fisherman looking for bass up here, don't think anyone really targets them up this way so its tough to get an idea of what's around)

Packing up now for the MS Surf Club Challenge...Staytign at the Sand Dollar with Bobbike and S-B's own chief Bottlewasher. The African Chicken Peanut Bean Soup is ready for the RI Leg cookout so we cna all get nice an toasty before the blow.

Weather predictions are strange right now...I see it very decent conditions up to Sat night. Looks like a big blow and nasty rain overnight but may be clear on Sun am for the dawn patrol. Who knows....you can't go large this time of year without being a bit uncomfy...see many of you out there.

I think there are still schoolies around here, but I think I'm going to give the freshwater a try tomorrow morning for a change of scenary and a foliage show - or I will just hit the salt for that last fish of the season.

then I got two parties to hit Sat night

I feel for ya.

You know, my wife and I are happy now that we pissed away a lot of money having fun and traveling when we were younger and didn't invest it in an IRA or the market. What we didn't piss away we put into our house to make it more comfortable.

At least you've got beer in the fridge, striperman - that's gotta be a comfort.

For the weekend, one four letter word - work

That and checking out my blackfish gear in my tackle room - I saw the first frost of the year on the grass early this morning, just heard the furnace kick on again - it's that time of year again

I'm almost done chasing bass on a regular basis I think - we'll see how I feel about it tomorrow

Mmmmm....I think I see some Drunken Blackfish Stew in my immediate future.....

"There is no royal road to this heavy surf-fishing. With all the appliances for comfort experience can suggest, there is a certain amount of hard work to be done and exposure to be bourne as a part of the price of success." From "Striped Bass," Scribner's Magazine, 1881.

Put a new tip on my spinning rod last night. Stoked up the woodstove. sucked up the leaves. Texting Tynan this am. Building a 2-stroke engine for my snowmachine. I'm done fishing,
