Missed that episode....he just caught a 4' Gator on topwater....I would have let him keep the plug.

The guy is like McGeyver when it comes to plug building. It also looks like the rod will be ripped from his arms at any second when he has a fish on.

VS. is channel 151 on Dish Network. You also can get WFN (World Fishing Network) on channel 394. You need either Classic 250 or TurboHD Gold to get Versus. WFN is only available in the Platinum HD addon package. If you're a longtime customer and have a HD receiver, you can get a free 3 months of PlatinumHD by either calling or going into your account online section of the Dish Net website.

The guy really knows his stuff.
He makes Charlie Moore and Tred Barta really look like idiots.
I have a book "Advanced Freshwater Fishing Strategies" that has a section on smallmouth bass featuring him as the expert. It gives a little of his fishing history: His dad had him fishing when he was 4, got his fitst paid guide gig at 11, has a numebr of flies named after him.
I like his no-nonsense, honest approach to fishing.
No "re-living old tales of glory, no bragging about all his many accoplishments (like Barta), no comical hijinks and buffoonery (like Moore).
This guy just plain knows how to fish, and isn't afraid to pass on his knowledge.
