				 O-bitch-uary thieves
MAN this just PISSES ME OFF
My wife told me that the day her co-worker
went to his young wife's funeral who died recently
from Cancer, someone broke into his House
because they KNEW he would not be home.

this to me is like committing a crime with a gun...
and anyone caught in a burglary crime on the day
the home owner is attending their spouses funeral
should get a much harsher sentence if apprehended.

sure gets my Goat ... ok, Rant .........off
 ~
 but remember this warning...
if it's posted in the newspaper
ask someone to watch your place
 while your gone that day....

				 | That is pathetic!!! Hopefully they catch the jerk!!!!
A lot of thieves will generally strike during the day though, for 2 main reasons:
1: people at work or funeral anything they can feel will keep you away for a while.
2: the penalties in most states differ greatly on this, a daytime robbery of a persons place of residence is usually classified as "breaking and entering". Breaking into the home or residence of another after dark is usually classified as a "burglary" with much stiffer penalties. The "larceny" part carries the same penalties day or night.

First suspect would be the neighborhood teen, or someone familiar with her to know that she would be at the funeral and what time the funeral. A lot of funerals for us average folks aren't advertised or general knowledge to the public and I dought even if it was, they would list the address of the widows house and the funeral time. I'd bet it is someone she knows..... Sad but often the case....

If you find out who it is, invite him fishing, we can use my boat........ |

				 | This has been going on for years. We have had people in the town I work hire an officer to sit the house for the day just so it doesn't happen to them. Also one has to figure since most thieves don't read the newspaper its probably a relative who knew no one was going to be home. |

Lots of people also ask trusted friends to house-sit for them while they're at the funeral or wake. |

				 | This sorry act has been going on for as long as I can remember, but it never occurred to me that it may have been relatives. That's REALLY low. But it does make sense when you see how fast folks come out of the wood work for the "grab" after. Robbing the dead and robbing weddings are two low-life crimes that are just sub human. |
