Dolomite powder

the nutritious calcium /magnesium powder you stir in milk

it totally soothes your nerves.....especially the magnesium

there are sleep tapes available too---they work wonders.

when ya first listen to them.... it takes fifteen minutes to fall asleep

after about 2 weeks just hearing them has you asleep and i mean a deep sleep ....in less than 5 minutes...

ALSO bee pollen will knock you out bigtime ,,,but buy the bulk type at a health food store that is multi colored as its usually fresher than the capped in a bottle variety.

Arrow power napping

this has been proven by sleep science/research

you lay on your stomach fully dressed with shoes on
with your feet extended just over the edge of the bed
pointing downwards for the 20-60 minute duration....

i don't know why that works but it does

Arrow i have insomnia too

It's 1:15 am and i can't get to sleep---period---
can't shut off the ole brain it seems

so.... i just stirred a large spoon of Dolomite into a cup of milk

and i took four melatonin pills ....which i totally forgot to mention

in response to Nebe's post Insomnia ...it sucks

Our bodies produce melatonin ....but you need exposure to sunlight
for you to produce sufficient quantities...of it

somehow its tied to the photoperiod .....ie the length of daylight
(wishing i had some bee pollen damnit)

PLUS it's a full moon and that always keeps my mind workin over time...

perhaps the chocolate (which either is caffeinated)
kinda /sorta acts like caffeine in the cookies i had...

Try stop drinking coffee after 2 pm. Several of my co-workers complain about it and eventually figured out no afternoon java for them.

I on the other hand can drink a pot of coffee and fall right a sleep like a baby with warm milk.

We are all getting older and our bodies change. If you worry or stress too much over things, you won't sleep well either.

I have that trouble some nights, too. I gave up coffee after noon a long time ago. You might try logging into this site and chasing down Larry's Plug Porn, works for me!

I very rarely sleep thru a night. Once every 6 months or so. Go to bed no later than 10and am awake by 3 after napping on and off all night. I can mark every hour on the clock. I've learned to live with it except that I'll nod off just before the alarm rings.

i try not to

hit the hay until the first nod off... "the signal"

then i know that within minutes of my head
hitting the pillow i'll be out like a light.

i took dolomite and melatonin last night
and it zonked me out real good...

problem with waking up every hour is
your not getting into the deeper rem sleep

a Japanese inventor built this specialized sleeping
chair (recliner) that gives you 8 hours in four

man oh man........ i wish i had one of those

it almost pays to have the digital alarm clock
in a totally seperate room within hearing distance

I think I can get a better sleep in the recliner in front of TV most nights?

I do that a LOT !
Start off in bed, wake up during the night, end up on a reclining chair w/ tv on and kind of go back to sleep.

Who Is At Risk for Sleep Apnea?

It's estimated that more than 12 million American adults have obstructive sleep apnea. More than half of the people who have this condition are overweight. Thin people develop the disorder, too.

Sleep apnea is more common in men. One out of 25 middle-aged men and 1 out of 50 middle-aged women have sleep apnea.

Sleep apnea becomes more common as you get older. At least 1 out of 10 people over the age of 65 has sleep apnea. Women are much more likely to develop sleep apnea after menopause.

African Americans, Hispanics, and Pacific Islanders are more likely to develop sleep apnea than Caucasians.

If someone in your family has sleep apnea, you're more likely to develop it.

People who have small airways in their noses, throats, or mouths also are more likely to have sleep apnea. Smaller airways may be due to the shape of these structures or allergies or other medical conditions that cause congestion in these areas.

Small children often have enlarged tonsil tissues in the throat. This can make them prone to developing sleep apnea.

Other risk factors for sleep apnea include smoking, high blood pressure, and risk factors for stroke or heart failure.

Given the diversity of the human species, there is no “normal” human genome sequence. We are all mutants.

For me it is not the malted but those distilleries that have the most effect in copious amounts......

there is truth there.. alcoholics that drink themselves to sleep...ahem passing out...
will wake up, sometimes not too pleasantly... and that is just what it is..body craving more...

I have had bouts of insomnia on and off my whole life...

I will say this... elminated booze years ago.. coffee a few years ago..
working on chocolate... been good lately..but crave it like a mad man..

exercizing more...resumed my mad man walks, and have even been doing old fashioned stuff like push ups and stuff...
plus side is, I have dropped 15 pounds this year..so far... I hope more goes away...and I feel much better

shut the damn TV off and the PC too.. a good hour or better before you even think about getting into bed....

this helps immensely... you wind down, decompress.. and you are ready...I fall asleep quicker, sleep deeper undisturbed, and actually feel rested come morning...

Even with more stress in my life.. I know I am getting more sleep lately..due to changing a few old habits

but.. I would still do strange things for chocolate RIGHT NOW ...

I've quit a lot of things..smokin, drinkin, coffee and other stuff.. but damn that devil chocolate got a hold of me....
