I had a sustained gust of 76mph at 1:36. I am not representative because of my elevation but it is screaming thru the trees right now.

So if the weather channel says 6-12 inches for my area, is that from the time it started raining until they think it will stop? Or from the time it hits shore? What is that total based on?

I just went out to move some debris and a gust slapped in the face with an oak leaf harder than any woman ever slapped me for wont of inappropriate behavior. I think I just saw my first 50...not talking fish. Hopefully, FinS 32 will not attempt an excursion as planned on the "how are you preparing" thread.
Were is the rain they're saying we're getting?

Still no power here. Lost it yesterday around 6. High winds and a lot of trees down, but minimal flooding- amazingly, my basement is dry (and its a notorious leaker).
I've been out of the loop, but it seems like jersey took the brunt. Good luck to everyone down there, and also to those in ny, RI, and the ss of ma.

I am unable to connect with any in Ocean City NJ. THe GSP is still closed past marker 152. Both causeways to OC are closed and a mandatory evacuation of Ocean City is still in place.
I hope to be able to go down this coming weekend, Friday and see how much damage our place has, at worst I think it's flooding. but won't know till then.

Your not alone. I'm about to go outside and cook hot dogs and beans on the grill in the pouring rain. Atleast Redlite let me take a shower earlier. His wife even fed me. Now it's back to being a hobo

Nice! It's kinda cool camping. The kid thinks its fun but it sucks not having a hot shower in the am. That's what wakes me up. I was moping around for 3 hours this am not knowing what to do with myself.
Another downside is that every loan that I'm working on needs a re-inspection. Only a drive by but it puts a wrench in EVERY friggin deal. The lenders want to make sure the house is standing before they lend. But how the hell will they know if the home doesn't have 5 feet of water in it? Makes no sense.

Boiling a second pot of water for the kids bath. Good thing my stove does 15K BTU.

Did you take turns scrubbing each other with the loofah? And I think you made a typo there with a b instead of a m.

A b? Not sure I follow. But mike did hit the record button before I went into the bathroom. John I'm sure you can find the video of me on one of your preferred websites that highlights guys in showers. Btw did you get my vm?

What happened? You went to work and waited for a closing package for hours and it never came? Then 6 hours later you were finally notified after wasting the whole day at the office? That blows.

The magnitude of this storm is nuts. My company is headquartered in the western suburb’s of Cleveland, OH. They lost power last night at 8:30 PM. They are still out and do not even expect it back tomorrow.
My buddy out in in Chicago, IL said Lake Michigan had 23’ waves. Amazing power and immense impact ……………

Man, that's quite the pain. We just signed our P&S today for our first house. Been enough of a headache with so many people involved, then mother nature comes in to screw it all up even more. Fortunately, it seems the house was untouched which is good because I go out of town for work the day after closing and any delays would push us back almost a month (along with the 3 other dependent deals).
Good luck digging out of all headaches.
