Ru Pacific Spin Reel

I inherited this reel from the family of a deceased friend of mine, Dr. Arthur Robinson, of Falmouth. I think this is your reel. I myself would like to know more about the history and anecdote of these reels.

This reel I am entrusted with is a half bail. The backside of the reel up by the neck is a screw cover over a grease gun fitting. The writing on the back says: MADE IN FRANCE - MARQUE DEPOSEE. Further around on this backplate there is some writing: BREVETE SGDG.

The reel seems to have a very good drag. The half bail flips completely backward. The line guide is NOT made to rotate; however, it can be easily repositioned to spread the wear.

God bless Dr. Robbie; I have always called him my professional father.
