Things do go bump in the night.
Flourocarbons diameter is smaller even though it has more material. Its refractive index is lower and it doesnt absorb water. It is essentiaslly stiffer with no stretch. The high sensitivity and hook setting ability makes it excel as a leader material, but it hasnt been managed as a fishing line. Manufactures are working on a softer line, we will probably see it soon, but as of now, 300 yards of flouro would break the bank. (Mine anyway)
