new fisherman needs help

I'm using 30lb braided line and I fish off the beach to start off. I'm using pogies. I use a fish finder with a 3 oz weight then a snap swivel then a #5 striper hook with a leader. I use a nice chunk of pogie on the hook. Am I doing this right and is my setup up correct.
