The whole thing was a scam' Hecker said as he left the Goldenrod Cottage for the last time. 'We all knew there was no meaningful evidence.'
'Ya, but we expected a little bit of COMPETENT evidence!! That's why we fired your A$$!' Muther could be heard yelling from the window.
'I did all I could for those mean, ignorant, selfish snakes.' Hecker mumbled under his breath.
'I can hear you. And I must say, I agree with everything except where you said you did all you could. Now leave! Go do nothing for somebody else!'
And that's how it ended.
