I'm not in denial about climate change, but in all fairness, Spanish macks have been occasional visitors to Buzzards Bay and the Vineyard for many years. The state record was caught by a young girl fishing from the Oak Bluffs ferry dock sometime in the mid-1980s. I think that MV is considered to be the northern end of their range. But, at the rate things are going, it won't be long before they're caught north of the Cape.

I remember that right about the same time, a guy caught a small tarpon in Hyannis, throwing either a Roberts or Spofford rabbit plug. Then, in the early 1980s, someone caught a 43 pound cubera snapper at the herring run in the Canal.

Wise men speak because they have something to say; Fools, because they have to say something.
