Sent it out late November and got it back in three weeks. Problem now is the drag came back AFU, so it needs to go back again. I just ordered a new spool, and hopefully that will help the drag problem. I will send the whole mess back next fall. Has anyone sent just the spool out, or do you need to send the whole thing? Don't want to risk a long turnaround this time of year.

I would call VS to ask about the spool. I've had to call them on a couple occasions. You'll often get voicemail but they will call you back quickly and I found them to be very helpful.
I'd b#tch about your experience with the drag. You should be able to send it back and get priority service over everyone else for free.

I needed something else to worry about.

i called them for an extra top knob for my VS250 and had it in 3 days. They did a great job on my reel. The list of parts they replaced was like 36 or 37 different pieces.

Sounds like some of you guys are cutting it close, season is just around the corner.
If I was ever lucky enough to have a VS and needed service it would go back the day after the season ended.

I shipped my VS250 to VS via US Mail. I insured it for $1000. Cost like 8 or 10 bucks. I was hoping it got stolen. I could have bought 2 used VS on EBay.
