Enjoy lots of things I call "fishing". Watching a group of surfers can be one of them at times.
Along with watching the ships come in.
Interestingly, there are several surfers(?) I see from time to time at one of the local breachways. Bag buckled around the waist, rod in hand with a board. They'll walk up to the rocks on one side, literally jump in with the board and all from 5-10 ft up, paddle across to fish the other side if there's fish. If not, they'll do the surfin safari thing.
Low buck, simple, and productive.
