The question is moot.

There are many producers of veal that are "considered" humane by the non-peta ecco crowd...We consumed 6 of said prime chops during last years Christmas dinner seared with a porcini sauce

So why are lobsters, that are transported alive less humanly treated than a baby cow kept inside a box?

Dont get me wrong, I love veal, I just think it is rather hypocritical of Whole Foods.... and just silly...

Well, more and more veal is now raised in larger pens rather than in the old-style stalls. It's humane enough for the natural food crowd to deem it ethical...

As far as the cow is concerned, this is their natural environment.

Not so for the lobster, free for years to live and reproduce only to be yanked (tricked really) to live out their sentence in an artificial holding tank.

Of course to see the logic you have to get past the idea that a lobster is about as smart as a cricket, and feel that as human you need to extend a little extra courtesy to those mother nature created.

This can't be a serious conversation??? Are you really trying to break down the difference between a lobster pool and a veal holding area on whether or not these creatures were "tricked" into being there?
