				 | 1680....wasn't that when John Smith wrote about the rivers being so full of bass you could walk on them? Salmon, codfish, halibut, swordfish, tuna, salters...all untouched....boggles the mind. |

				 | At least 200 years ago ... but must be on a day when the action is super hot, stripers going crazy and large ... and there are no hostiles of any sort in the area to cause trouble ... as I want to jettison in and out at will with my big fish, just enough so no one sees me.
I'd also go back to the Florida keys at least a 100 years or so with a flats skiff and guide on a high sun, southeast breeze at 5 mph, low mosquitos and lots of tarpon, permit and bonefish to nail on fly ... bring back some permit for my buddy to make permit ceviche ... it's awesome ... |

				 | It'd be pretty fun to go way back and do some shark fishing for a Megladon.
I'd love to go back to when I could be on a stick boat for swordfish right off the cape. Tuna fishing in the 50's would be pretty amazing also. If you could get em with a hand line, imagine how well some flouro would be. That would be a great way to get my first!

				 | I would go back to the late 50's and fish the outerbanks with my grandparents. I never got the chance to fish with my grandmother beyond me with a snoopy rod. We have some movies they took the first few years they went down there when there was basically nothing but a gas station where the village of Avon is now.
Edit: I chose this based on the premise that I am the only one that gets on the time machine. If I can choose people to go with me it would be different. I just don't want to go back to 1368 by myself |

				 | A certain area of a certain beach on the outter Cape June 28, 2005, 7:00am. I really can't imagine if it could get too much better then that. Beautiful, warm, sunny, calm, acres of big stripers rolling around from my feet to 100yrds out and a 1/4 mile in either direction. My brother decided to sleep in that morning. |

				 | I'd go back to 1990 - 1993. Thats when my Dad was at his best in the surf, I was 21 and partying with my friends. We actually passed each other a few times, I'd be leaving the Ocean Mist at 1am, he'd be heading to Carps. The best times of my life were fishing with him but we never night fished for bass together. I'd give almost anything to see him land a fish again. |

				 | What Slingah said! (My S-B "handle," after all!). It was a Bass convention then the likes of which I haven't seen from shore since! Oh, and it wasn't one such night as he describes for me: I'd say I had half- a- dozen such nights that Fall there!
But that would be 1st choice of my own experiences to return to... To go back to any place & time? I'd say next to Dennis during "Snowstorm Blitz" too because I love that Porkchop so much!!... but it really seems that action then was mostly at one specific spot, that really is unpleasant to fish with more than 3-4 guys! According to Dennis there were usually 20- 30 guys there during the blitz all crazed & casting...

So: give me the Cape that early Nov. when Tony S. took Bertha!-- & Steve Kearney from L.I. had a mid- 60's & mid- 50's within 3 days... as a 16 yr. old!
All that bait & fish... and a "hotspot" of sand stretching for miles! Was plenty of room back then & no "mugging" I'm sure! And those 60's are SO much easier to best & release with feet planted on sand... as opposed to rocks & cobble bar! |

				 | The last week in Sept. "98" on the back side, the whole week was great till a strong cold front came through and ended it. Fish every night, all night long 25-40 lbs. Fished just two beaches, eels and plugs. That was a great week, have not seen anything close to that week, before or after. At times it was like feeding worms to bluegills off the dock, except this time it was bass and eels. |
