big hudson river fish

I found this on another site from a recent hudson river derby, look at the weights 1 60, several 50's and lots of 40's wow!

Scott Emslie, coordinator for the Hudson River Striped Bass Derby provided a list of the top anglers in this unique two day contest for 2007. THE 18TH ANNUAL HUDSON RIVER STRIPED BASS DERBY FINAL RESULTS - 1st Carl Kraiz - 63.04 pounds, 2nd Henry Molt IV - 54.54 pounds, 3rd Frank Green - 51.36 pounds, 4th Chris Chudkosky Sr. - 51.18 pounds, 5th - William Walsh - 49.34 pounds, 6th - Brian Brockett - 44.73 pounds, 7th - Kevin Krause - 43.37 pounds, 8th - Vincent Longo - 41.87 pounds, 9th - Peter Longo - 40.95 pounds, 10th - Todd Krause - 36.23 pounds, 11th - Charles E. Martin Jr. - 35.95 pounds, 12th - Wally Chudkowski - 35.68 pounds, 13th - Patrick Delpino - 34.02 pounds, 14th - Don Parrone - 33.30 pounds, 15th - Warren Davis - 31.83 pounds, 16th -.Bill Glucksnis - 31.81 pounds, 17th - Guy R. Horne - 30.50 pounds, 18th - John Kroger - 30.23 pounds, 19th - Fred Hassenmayer III - 29.00 pounds and 20th - John Bolde Jr. - 28.05 pounds. Nice job, guys!

Manhattan is a great fishery. Lots of untapped opportunities too.

17 lber on live Bunker snagged from shore last night... 2 miles from NYC!

40 lb. + girls due down the Hudson any day now...

Thats amazing my dad used to tell me stories of the stripers they would catch in the hudson in Yonkers yrs ago.I remember being a kid a thinking no way.It was real dirty then..Thay have some fishery up there.Thats amazing weights for a 2 day event.They could have seasonal events that would have a real hard time competing with that..Anybody in the striper cup should be happy they don't form a team..
