I spend $30.00 a week on Diesel. I travel about 24 miles total to work. but i drive a 1983 Toyota Land Cruiser with a 5 speed, 3B diesel that gets 35 mpg!
I row a 13' lapstake Peapod designed by Doug Hylan, and built by yours truly, the building of it took over 500 hours, but I can row it anywhere I want, and do.I average a minimum of 2 miles per day, as I live on my boat 6 months a year, and i am one nauitcal mile exactly to the marina dock, and I row it in under 20 minutes when in a rush. But always fish to an from an in between whenever I feel like it, which is ALOT of the Time.
Last Fall , I took my son to Prudence Island, we anchored the mother ship, and proceede to fish in the Peapod, for 10 hours each day, we caught almost 800lbs of bluefish in that time, and then proceeded to catch 22 stripers immediately followingthat in less than 1 hour.Yea I lie to fish, and so does my son , who is now 17!
