Saw the article and had always thought that cable ties would be the way to go as I've shied away from rigging eels. How do you attached the rear hook to the front one? Could I use the technique as I do with 2 hook sluggos when I do them "Mcenna" style?

yeah guys, great articles all around. I too was happy to see DZ in there and I enjoyed the article. I think DZmay have mentioned it here, but the part about the "cigar butts" was really interesting and since we don't have a huge blue population where I fish, I may find myself cutting them as you suggested!
the riggie thing was awesome too, great job RIRockhound!

I use doubled up 100lb dacron to connect the hooks.
Unless it's big water, I fish single hooked, smaller 12" riggies most of the time...
