I have been told that John Martini, Sherwood Lincoln and Ray Jobin all have 50 plus bass over 50 pounds. Wow! From the surf, I don't know who has the most. I do know that Pat Abate has at least 5, maybe more. Tim Coleman has 3 and one over 60. #^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^& has 1 from surf and 1 from boat with a 60 also from the boat. Also, I bet some surfmen fishing the Island in the 80's had a few. Some of the islanders had great scores back then basically because they lived there. In addition, Al Knie from LI has a few(?) under his belt. As does LIer Billy Lagakis and wrote a great book about his striper exploits. If I think of any more I'll chime in. Oh, I can't forget a rod and reeler I know who will remain nameless, has alot of 50's, catching 2 in one day and 4 in a weeks time to name a few of his accomplishments. These guys are amazing.

Catching a 50 pound striper is a real accomplishment. Alot of great boat and surf fisherman out ther have never done it. It's like pitching a no hitter in baseball, it is rare indeed. So it gives you a better idea of just how good these gentleman are and how much time they put on the water.

More surf 50's-- Frank Daignault- 6 I think. Jerry Slyvester had 6 or 7 I'm told.

Our friend and member here, Sauerkraut, has five, 3 in one night all surf caught. ( and all on plugs!!!!!!!!!!)  |

From the surf, I dunno - Iron Mike has to be up there.
The Iron Wonder has 2 60#s from the surf but I'm not sure how many 50's  |

Right you are Bryan.
I remember Harley had 4 50s in 1 DAY back 6 or 7 years ago. I have seen him in his 14' tin boat up against the rocks at Bonnet Point in 6' seas crushing huge fish.
He is like a ghost. Never hear a word about him but he has more 50s than I have 20s. |

There's a couple guys on the cape who had a lot of 50's from shore. Nate Piazza and George Carlezon(both RIP) had at least 15 apiece from shore. TC has taken at least 50 over 50# from shore. Numerous 60's too. Nobody will ever touch his numbers from shore. Stetzko surely has significant numbers too.

The late Lanny Grazinni had quite a few. Gil Guilletone had 5 that I know of.

My fishing buddys 2 mentors each has a few dozen over 50. One took 2 fish to market one morning for a total over 130#. My buddy has got 4.
