Why are you assuming Lami will not honor the warrantee? I would be surprised if they didn't.

I am very dismayed to hear they wouldn't honor Sandman's warrantee. It is bad business for them not to honor a warrantee. A free blank prevents all the bad press which must cost them plenty of sales. If word gets out that they are not honring the warrantee , people will stop buying them , its that simple.

Anyway , call them and ask for a new blank ,see what they say. Doesn't matter where you bought it. You are the original owner and they should send you a new blank.

update.....this is turning into THE biggest aggravation.....so I went over to CMS sat. to pick up my broken rod and spoke with the owner. I understand that I have to go thru M&D's for the warranty. No big deal. But here in lies the problem....i had my receipt from when had paid CMS for the whole thing. It came to $319. The blank at M&D's cost me $176 (thanx s-b discount) Now when I tried to get my money back for the blank from CMS, the guy tells me that he will only refund me $130..WTF!!!!......i said how you figure, its a $200 blank? if I came in here, bought it, and brought it back, you'd give me my money back. He says that when you do it to have them wrap it, they only reimburse you THEIR cost for it. WTF!!!.....Some b.s. that he has to pay his employees and keep lights on and some other bs. So it boils down to that I paid CMS $189 for a few guides, a reel seat, some cork tape, and to wrap it. WTF!!! Then he tells me that IF I get the blank replaced, they'll re-wrap it for another $60!! WTF!!!

I have bought a lot of stuff from them, 3 rods, and had them do all work/ repairs on my rods. Always been good. Well I am ABSOLUTELY disgusted with their customer service on this issue. They dropped the ball on this one. I told the guy this and that I am done doing business with them.
Soooooo.......I call M&D's and they say that he can't give me new rod. I have to mail it back to Lami for them to check out and decide IF they are even goin ta warranty.... Additional cost- $60 shippin each way equals another $120.......So by the time I am done, this f'n rod is going to cost me almost $500 freakin dollars!!!!......When I got this rod I envisioned my kids inheriting it. Fortunately they won' t inherit this mind numbing aggravation. I should have just bought an Ugly-Stick. Will keep ya'll updated.

I can't follow your money trail. You paid CMS 319 to build on your M&D blank? That doesn't make sense. Sorry but I can't follow what you are saying.

BTW , 189 for the parts and a build on your blank is very reasonable. I must be missing something here???

as a rule its a big mistake to buy the blank from one guy and have someone else build it. I can see if you are importing a Century or Ziplex or a hard to find blank but for a blank that everyone can get , you should just buy the whole mess from one guy.
