Lesson #1 Water resistant in the world of mobile electronics is not waterproof.
Lesson #2 Put it in a zip bag or it's gonna get wet.
Lesson #3 Military water specs are a JOKE. They are allowed to basically splash water at the unit and fog it with a mister and it passes. Most any electronics will pass these tests. Mil Std doesn't have provisions for submersible units. I believe the correct waterproof spec is JIS-7 if memory serves correct. If it's Mil Std 810 anything it's resistant and I think the JIS-7 spec says it's good for 1 meter for 30 minutes.
Buy something like this and keep it in there. http://www.waterproofcases.net/aqp-104.html

mine has been dunked twice, once on the boat ramp in Plymouth, and once in Menemsha Harbor, still ticking over a year later, big and clunky but works well, wouldn't try to go swimming with it on purpose but for occasional splashes etc it is much better than other phones I've had

Mine has been underwater twice in a swimming pool, actually had a conversation underwater..LOL I had to try it. When it's dirty, I put it under the faucet. Had it over a year now and still works great. I've dropped it about a hundred times too. Waterproof for sure.

I have that phone.have had it for over a year it has seen the bottom of my mother's pool, used it in the shower, and took it wet suiting a few times as well,I will call you on it if you like still working fine.At one point after wet suiting the phone would die in the middle of me using it might of been from the water but it is now back to working just fine. The flash on the phone also can be used as a flashlight.

I dont know about that phone in particular but keep in mind you can buy a few phones for $299.00. In my opinion you will have to keep that phone for a while to make it worth it, no?
