Out on the boat today 3am to 11am fished Narragansett shoreline, Beavertail and Brenton reef. We had a well full of live bunker and a bucket full of eels. Not one single hit, nothing even chased a bunker except for a handful of blue bite offs. Saw some surface action and ignored it, thinking it was blues. Around 9am went looking for topwater action, found nothing. we went all over. last year at this time there were mile long blitzes everywhere I looked.

No, I was in a Hydrasport, we got bunker @ 3am, in tight in by some boat slips.
Im optomistic that the fishing will pick up. Im just suprised at the lack of blitzes. I have not seen one peanut bunker this year. Last year my boat looked like someone pasted it with peanut bunker chum. Blues and bass were spitting them up. I am wondering if last year's massive bluefish slaughter took its toll on the bunker population?
