Slots??
I am new to this board and relatively new to surf casting. I have enjoyed my stay so far. Spent one night at the canal last weekend--caught three small fish (all released) and left with a smile.
What are your thoughts about a slot limit, for example, in an attempt to conserve the big egg filled cows, we limit the keepers to those under 36 or 38 inches and above 48 inches. This method is used commonly in freshwater management. I guess if you could allow 30 pounders up to say 45 pounders to continue to reproduce instead of harvesting those fish you'd have a better hatch. Killing a 28" bass does not have the same effect on the future population that killing a large female does. Of course I would be hard pressed to release a 45lb fish or even a 35 lb fish as I've not caught one that large. Sigh...
